Colin Varndell’s wildlife year – southern hawker
The southern hawker is the last of the large dragonflies to appear, and if the weather stays mild, may be seen on the wing until early November. This male was photographed on the seedhead of ‘love-in-the-mist’ in a Beaminster garden.
