Colin Varndell’s Wildlife Year – the marsh frog

The marsh frog Pelophylax ridibundus was first introduced from Hungary to Britain at Romney Marsh in 1935. The introduction was successful and the species has slowly spread through southern counties. It is now fairly common throughout Dorset.
